JoeSportsFan

I received the following picture from various people yesterday, so I imagine it must be making the rounds - especially in the St. Louis and Chicago south side regions.

A few things at work here and our fan hunters have been graciously asked to analyze the effort.  Let's take a look, shall we?

Chicago Cubs Tarzan

1.) The whole Chicago Cubs malevolence is a bit played.  There, I said it.  That said, total family costume unity is impressive; especially when it involves your wife.

2.) Pristine sign grammar and spelling.  A lost art these days.  And getting that plural possessive apostrophe correct? Bravo, my friend.

3.) Gotta love the youngest member of the clan, displaying his family insurgence by tying his loin cloth on the opposite shoulder and refusing to go bare chested.  Rage against the machine, bud.

4.) It must be pointed out; if these were, in fact, "uniforms" worn by the Cubs at their last World Series...they *probably* wouldn't be wearing Chicago White Sox hats.  Just saying.

Side Note: Have something you'd like to see analyzed by our well tenured (read: extremely smug and self-righteous) fan experts?  Keep sending those puppies in to matt@joesportsfan.com.

Apparently, Autumn has trouble with comma usage and the word "they're".

matt - i would like you to analyze your facebook profile picture. hey nancy, what's up with that scarf?
Harris Smith and Wesson, August 12, 2009 02:08 PM
This family seems a little thin for a group of Midwesterners
ChiTown Steve, August 12, 2009 02:08 PM
I hate all fans of all teams who don't cheer for the same team that I for.
Mark Buehrle, August 12, 2009 12:08 PM
On off-days, I like to mock the Cubs, so I brought the family to the game.
Bernie Brewer, August 12, 2009 12:08 PM
Those "uniforms" still look better than the Asstros old rainbow jerseys!
Doug Dascenzo, August 12, 2009 12:08 PM
here's to another 100 years of the self appointed best fans in baseball® having a jan brady complex for a team who hasn't done squat in a century.
The Riddler, August 12, 2009 11:08 AM
Question...what happens when the Cubs actually win something...like, oh, the World Series? What will the fan base do? Their entire identity is wrapped up in "Hey look at us...we cheer for losers. Aren't we so loyal and cute?". I hate the Cubs...here's to another 100 years of them losing.
Fresh Jive, August 12, 2009 08:08 AM
Besides, doesn't this reflect more poorly on White Sox fans?
Dave, August 11, 2009 11:08 PM
Come on Brett. Every fanbase has there collection of oboxious idiots and normal human beings. To say that Cubs fans in general are any more obnoxious than any other teams fans is ridiculous. I lived with 4 Cards fans the year you guys won the world series, and as a Cubs fan I still hear about it almost on a daily basis. Also, sentences begin with capital letters. Take a grammar tip from the guy in the picture

The Cubs fans are overtaking the Favre zealots in JoeSportsFan Fan Power Rankings.
JB, August 11, 2009 08:08 PM
C'Mon, this one isn't about the Cubs just because we're from STL. This is a family of four wearing cavemen outfits to the game - it doesn't matter who they're mocking, they're getting some face time on JSF.
Brett, August 11, 2009 07:08 PM
you know what. we wouldnt do shit like this to give cub fans shit if you werent so fucking obnoxious. seriously. you took first place for less than a week and ive never heard more loud and unruly people in my life. im a cardinals fan and we've pretty much been in first for most of the year, but i dont and i dont hear other cardinals fans going around yelling it out and making it their facebook statuses and stuff. cubs fans are just idiots!!!
Candy Maldanado, August 11, 2009 06:08 PM

Have my Cubs not suffered enough?
Captain Caveman, August 11, 2009 04:08 PM
Okay, what bet did she lose? No way she did that voluntarily...no foxtrotting way. See that plastered on fake smile? Notice the clenched teeth? That's not a truly happy wife...it's on that is plotting revenge that probably involves super glue.
kegler804, August 11, 2009 04:08 PM
Anyone else think mom was "commando" under that loin cloth?? Dad too??
Louphus, August 11, 2009 04:08 PM
I bet that family high fived each other 78 times that night!
Tim, August 11, 2009 04:08 PM
That sign isn't totally pristine. Words aren't exactly centered perfectly.
Jason, August 11, 2009 04:08 PM
I really like how the family is standing in the concourse like celebrities. Seriously guys, not THAT funny.
